Confessions of a Temporary Former Shopaholic, Day 2

Today was an easy day, because I was just at school aaaalllllllll day. NO shopping hazards there! I did get my Prom Dress though :) but I did not shop! My mom went and picked up the dress I put on hold on Sunday! Heeellllloooo loop hole!

Tomorrow I work, but I also have to get Erin's birthday present. I think that is fine, right? I did say that I wasn't shopping for myself!

We'll see :)

Confessions of a Temporary Former Shopaholic, Day 1

Today was....fine.

I did not shop. I did not shop. I did not shop.

I worked, but did not shop.

That's huge.

It was difficult. I really wanted the purchase with purchase (like a gift with purchase, only it's optional and costs $5). It was so cute! But I prevailed!

No one seems to think I can make it...but I shall prove them wrong!

T-minus 1 day and counting...

Tomorrow officially begins my 46 days of lent, sans-shopping. This may sound superficial, but shopping is a major part of my life. It probably wouldn't be that way if I didn't work at the mall...

Scratch that. That's WHY I work at the mall (and LOVE it!)

I have loved shopping ever since I had money to spend. My favorite store has been AE since I was big enough to wear their clothes, and now I work for the company! I got my first store rewards card (my AE All Access Pass in '06) and I haven't gotten anything less than 40% (or $20 as an employee) since. THAT'S how much I shop there. You should see my account history...it's disgusting.

When I started working at Aerie, it was an even bigger excuse to spend all of my money there! That's what's going to be hardest about giving up shopping: I have to see the clothes all the time!

I did create a loop-hole for myself...I had to. Prom is coming up! I have to get a dress! Following with Lenten guidelines, I will only shop for Prom Dresses on Sundays (but nothing else!)
